With 2,000 education and youth development professionals at Beyond School Hours XXI (BSH) and over 250 workshops happening, there are a lot of people to meet and a lot of things to see! We love getting to meet people face to face from school districts across the country and Canada.
Eleyo started out with a bang by sponsoring the Exhibit Hall Happy Hour on Wednesday, February 21. We have found exhibit happy hours to be a great way to kick off any event. The Eleyo Team met a lot of people that first night and had great conversations.
Beyond School Hours has so many activities for attendees to choose from. The most amazing part about this conference is the Workshop Strands. The conference leadership identified the top five strands in education today and then attendees were able to pick and choose workshops based on their roles and interests. The strands identified are:
- A Close-Up on Youth Development – focus on the overall well-being of all children
- A Live Look at STEM & Project-Based Learning – focused on building meaningful skills for students
- Family & Community Take Center Stage – examine trending topics in social justice and community engagement
- Grade-Level Reading & Literacy in the Spotlight – focused on building strong language and literacy skills
- The Results are In! – how to use data to showcase how well your program is performing
Eleyo had so much fun learning about different school districts. While we talked with people at our booth, we treated conference attendees to trail mix and shared information about how Eleyo can bring their programs into the modern age.
We look forward to seeing some of the people we met last week along with meeting new school districts at the NAA Annual Conference in Atlanta, Georgia March 18–21. Eleyo hopes to see you there!
